MeritFirst Software Engineer Assessment

This assessment is part of the MeritFirst Functional Test Series - role-specific challenges designed to give candidates a chance to show what they can actually do, not just what’s on their resume. This Software Engineering assessment is designed to evaluate the real-world engineering judgment, architectural thinking, and collaborative instincts of mid-level to senior software engineers. It includes scenario-based questions to highlight not just what you’ve done but how you reason, prioritize, and problem-solve in dynamic environments. Each question is designed to be answered live via audio/video recording or in writing. There are no trick questions in this assessment. We’re more interested in how you think than in finding a single “right” answer. The best responses are honest and grounded in your real experience - they help us understand how you approach problems in the real world.
